It’s Called Work, Ever Heard of It?
Creating and running a startup is hard work. When we tell friends and family members back home that we’re working 14 or 15-hour days out here at TechStars, a lot of them don’t believe it.
For us, introducing a new paradigm in online dating (like, say Ignighter for example) means that even when we go out, we’re always working. Being out at a bar gives us the distinct advantage of direct contact with our target demographic, so in our minds if we’re not evangelizing, we’re wasting an opportunity.
Last night a bunch of the TechStars went out for margaritas with the really fun and generous guys from SVB. While Tripdoor and FluxCapacity had the good fortune of being able to leisurely sip their drinks at the “guys table”, Kevin and I found ourselves in the all too familiarly burdensome predicament of having to work.
