A few things to learn about Boulderians
Being from New York and Philadelphia, we’ve really grown to love our Boulder friends. They’re some of the warmest, smartest, funniest people and if you’re not from Boulder we strongly recommend you make an effort to meet some Boulderians, they’ll certainly enrich your life (see our resident boy genius below…”awwwww!”)

If you do meet some fun people from Boulder though, there are a few things you should know going in. This list is not exhaustive, just a few points to keep in mind. As we get more ingrained into the Boulder culture, we’ll try to add to the list.
But for now, here are three things you should know about people from Boulder:
1. 78% of people from Boulder are allergic to gluten (compared to the national average of .004%). What is a gluten exactly? Yeah I don’t know either, but if you’re having a dinner party with Boulderians, don’t serve it!

2. Boulderians have a habit of answering questions by beginning with “So…” and finishing their response with a rhetorical “right?”. I know this one is a little out there, but I promise if you listen for it, you will catch it. A lot. From what I can tell, the “So” at the beginning is used to give them a second to gather their thoughts while the “right?” at the end is a way of softening their answer so as not to sound too obnoxiously authoritative on the subject.
Example:
“Where’s the best place in Boulder to get a burrito?”
“So…there are a handful of places you can go to get a really good burrito. But when you’re looking for the freshest ingredients with the least amount of gluten, the only option is Illegal Pete’s, right?”
3. “Going out for drinks” actually means “going out for Margaritas”. Margaritas have recently topped Coors Light and every other microbrew as the most consumed alcoholic beverage in Boulder. This margin of consumption has been significantly amplified by the recent trend of CU students playing Marg Pong.
