Sex and the City Press Release
Ignighter.com Guys Dive into Sex and the City to Learn the Other Side
NEW YORK, NY – (February 5, 2009) – Ignighter.com pioneered online group dating with its worldwide launch in August of 2008, setting the stage for a new paradigm in Internet matchmaking. The free service, aimed at 20-somethings and university students, allows groups of friends to collaborate on a profile page and then search their city for other groups that want to plan an offline date. Ignighter.com already has more than 25,000 members and continues to see rapid growth. As membership in New York City grows larger and larger, the founders, three men in their mid-twenties have decided that they need a way to connect on a deeper level to their female userbase. They see no better way than to sit down with all six seasons in the Sex and the City catalogue, the go-to text for young single women in New York.
“My female roommate is always telling me that Carrie said this, or Charlotte did that,” said Adam Sachs, Ignighter co-founder. “And after I realize she’s not talking about a former classmate of ours, I’m stuck feeling completely left out.”
Sick of being left out of every conversation with their female friends and feeling occasional disconnects from their female userbase, the founding team and their employees have decided to dedicate a weekend to watching the entire series of Sex and the City on DVD.
“We want to do this right. Drinking cosmos is certainly not out of the question,” said Dan Osit, another co-founder. “It may sound funny, but this Sex and the City weekend is really about connecting with our female counterparts. And we think it’s going to work!”
