Friday Fun Interactive Post - The Sausage Party for Girls

This is the first in our new series of Friday Fun Interactive Posts where we ask for reader feedback on a variety of topics.
Today’s inaugural topic is the Sausage Party.

Everybody knows that when a group of guys get together it’s affectionately called a “Sausage Party”. This is so widely used that it has become a generally understood term in young society’s lexicon. In today’s gender equal world, however, it seems troubling that there is no widely accepted term for the female equivalent.

For years I’ve been using the self-coined phrase, “Chilean Sea Bash”, but this tends to be met with a confused reaction more than one of immediate understanding.

So now I’m opening up the floor to you, kind readers. Do you have a term that you and your friends typically use to describe a party of only (or mostly) women? If not, can you think of a good one?

Leave responses in the comments.

**Please remember that this is a company blog so I encourage you to use discretion and try to make your responses appropriate. Thanks!**

The ladies of The View talk about group dating

Yesterday the ladies of The View talked about the expanding craze of group dating. Although we don’t have a clip from the show, watchingtheview.com recapped the conversation. Excerpt below:

The next topic was a survey that shows that more 20-somethings are going on group dates rather than individual dates. Whoopi did not know what group dating was, so Sherri explained it to her. Joy said they used to have mixers, which is similar.

Joy, you need to relax!

It’s really exciting to see this trend being validated more and more by the media. Last week The Wall Street Journal, this week The View, if only Sue Johanson hadn’t recently retired we could’ve completed the media trifecta next week.

Some photos from IDay

A week after Investor Day and things haven’t really slowed down here. In fact they’ve been more hectic than we could have imagined. The anticipation of Investor Day caused stress, over/undereating, and so much sequestered preparation that people were even telling me that I was pale! Me! Pale! Absurd.

But now that a week has passed we’re finally able to look back fondly at what was a really enjoyable day. Kudos to the other nine TechStars companies, your presentations were truly inspiring.

Below are a few pics from ours (please excuse the blurriness. Molly’s nerves led her to drink 4 bloody marys before our 10am presentation):

1. Things started off kind of awkwardly when David accidentally introduced me as Michael Cera and Dan as Jonah Hill:

thanks david

2. What good is presenting to 300 people if you can’t include giant pictures of your already oversized head?

3. Dan rocked the live demo of the product while Kevin expertly “drove” by pretending to type and use the mouse. Nicky supervised.

4. It took a little while for the Jewish cow joke to sink in. But once it did, audience members were roaring with confusion.

5. At night we all went out to The Kitchen to celebrate. This picture is great for four reasons. A) Austin is still dressed like a pilot, complaining about the layover he has to make in Cincinatti. 2) Dan has one giant tooth. III) Molly is cringing after eating ramekins of ketchup for money (due to the economy, Ignighter has had to make some budget cuts recently. And unfortunately, Molly’s nonexistant salary was the first to go). Quatre) Micah is maniacally laughing because he’s realizing that coughing up $20 for Molly to eat a ramekin of ketchup was actually a terrific investment.

So this is what happens when Barack and Hillary go on a date?

This Thursday Ignighter is hosting a fun event (free drinks! free drinks!) at Forum (127 4th Ave. New York City) in which we’re bringing together groups of Obama supporters and groups of Clinton on a group date. What better way to unite a fractious party before the convention than with a group date, right?

Check out the Facebook event here and RSVP if you can make it. Feel free to bring your friends too. Did I mention there will be free drinks?

We even have special guests coming, including Obama Girl! Hope to see you there!
