Ignighter in the Huffington Post

The multi-talented Christine Hassler - the host of Twenty Something Yak -  also has an advice column in the Huffington Post. Today she tackled the question of a troubled Atlanta reader trying to decide if it’s cool or not to try online dating. I provided a little “expert” quote to help ‘Online Dating-Phobic, 26′ answer her conundrum.  Check it out here.

Podcast about the current state of online dating

Recently Twanna Hines, the Funky Brown Chick herself, did a podcast with CBC Radio: Spark in which she discusses the merits and growing phenomenon of Group Dating.

The podcast is here.

We’re always blabbing on and on about how the conventional dating sites simply haven’t adapted their models to reach a young audience. It’s nice to see that dating and relationship experts really agree!

A/S/L Check - An Ignighter Interview Series - Hard Questions, Soft Bodies. #4

Yesterday we added a very important member to the Ignighter team. Why is she so important? Well primarily because she’s a she. But even primarilierly because she works for free.

Meet the lovely Molly Bush, our newest Community Catalyst and cell phone answerer. Molly loves wine, cheese, and headbands and currently lives in an abandoned truck tire warehouse with her pomerianian and bff, Ferdie. She prefers to date celebrities, reality TV stars, and other people that she’s stalked.

Ignighter: Molly it’s great to have you on board…

Molly: Huh?

Ignighter: Are you not paying attent- Wait a second, you’re on Monster.com looking for paying jobs again aren’t you?

Molly: I might be. That’s not part of my job description?

Ignighter: I’m still not exactly sure what it is you do here…

Molly: Catalyze the community.

Ignighter: And that means…?

Molly: Can we get to some real questions please?

Ignighter: Sure. Tell us about your background.

Molly: I went to High School in Ithaca, NY. Then I decided to come out to Colorado University where I sort of studied Business and Sociology.

Ignighter: Those were your majors?

Molly: Nah. When I took over somebody’s lease my freshman year, they had left behind two textbooks; one business and one sociology. I’ve taken a few peeks.

Ignighter: And after college?

Molly: After college I started working big girl jobs and that’s when I died inside. I also love moving.

Ignighter: Like traveling?

Molly: No moving. I typically move four times per year and change states yearly.

Ignighter: Sounds like you’re really at Ignighter for the long haul!

Molly (banging her laptop, not listening): Why does Monster take so long to load?!

Ignighter: Any siblings?

Molly: I have one brother whom my mother loves more than me.

Ignighter: Well we love you more than your brother.

Molly: That’s creepy. I’m kinda happy to be here too.

Ignighter:  Well that’s great. Now if you don’t mind, we’ll get to the closing questions.

Molly: OK, but quickly please, I have a call with my temp agency at 11:30.

Ignighter: What is your favorite word?

Molly: Irked.

Ignighter: What is your least favorite word?

Molly: Is there a word for jobs that don’t pay? Oh. Internship.

Ignighter: Boxers or Commando?

Molly: Sexual harassment?

Ignighter: Favorite smell?

Molly: Fear.

Ignighter: What historical figure would you most like to go on a date with?

Molly: Heath Ledger. Too soon? Then I’ll go with JFK.

Ignighter: Terrific. Thanks so much for your time Molly.

Molly: Huh? Sure.

Can anybody translate this?

Ignighter popped up on another Asian website (it’s happened a few times before) that was probably doing a story on new dating sites since they featured us, Crazy Blind Date, and Girls Ask Guys.

The story is here in Chinese. Can anybody translate?
